Excellence in Research Award

The SHM Excellence in Research Award shall be presented in recognition of outstanding achievement by a researcher in the discipline of Hospital Medicine.

Criteria for Evaluation

While all of the following may not apply to each candidate, the Awards Committee plans to use the following criteria as a basis for evaluation:

• Impact and relevance of research to Hospital Medicine
• Peer-reviewed publications
• Intra- and extramural funding for research
• National presentations in research area
